At the Tailrace Centre we believe in marriage and we know that your wedding day is one of the most important days of your life symbolizing one of the most important life decisions you will ever make.  Our experienced staff are committed to making your wedding day memorable and will be delighted to help you with all aspects of planning for your special day.

Wedding Ceremonies 

Situated on the banks of the West Tamar River the garden greens provide a perfect venue for your out door Wedding Ceremonies.  With your closest friends and family comfortably seated on the grassed area the happy couple can take their vows  framed by a beautiful Australian backdrop.  Red carpet and a registration table with white linen and chairs will be provided.

The chapel provides a beautiful setting for an indoor wedding.  With its light and airy ambience created by the glass walls and the water garden the chapel provides a beautiful venue for a couple to take their vows.

To assist with the planning of your ceremony we have In House Wedding Celebrants  who are committed to ensuring that your wedding vows and ceremony capture the essence of your hearts of love for each other.  

Wedding Reception

Your wedding feast will be prepared by Award Winning  Chef William Wilson  who has devised a banquet of food styles and menu’s to choose from.   Cooking with local produce his food is always fresh and healthy and reflects his love of cooking.

Wedding Rooms 

At the Tailrace Centre we have 3 Reception rooms:

The Tamar Room : 

•  Seats 90 comfortably
•  Panoramic views of the River and the surrounding mountains
•  Access to the deck

The Freycinet Room:

•  Seats up to 250 comfortably but is also the best room if guests love to dance.  It is our second most popular wedding room

The Chapel:

• Seats 90 comfortably
• Is a beautiful room with an award winning Japanese garden.
• Is a fabulous room for a cocktail wedding feast.
