HISTORY
In 2007 The Tailrace Centre was Tasmania's largest owner builder project..
The Tailrace Centre is an Australian first in its definition of what a community centre looks like.
Church who have a vision of building a great city and a great nation and believe that buildings can facilitate the development of community.
It was built to support and facilitate the myriad of components that make a truly great community.
The Tailrace Centre exists to support the vision and ministry of New Directions Community Church. The Tailrace Centre facilitates this process through:
"The judges awarded the Tailrace the Inspiration Award for the way you integrate diverse services, the services you offer to young people which are not available else where which in turn attracts young people who needs are not met elsewhere. The organisation was considered inspirational in how it has been funded, the motivation and the good deeds that are performed as a consequence of running a successful business that adds value to the region."
